Who we are

DAR Alert is a team of volunteers with specialist knowledge and skills who search for missing people in Spain. We are ordinary people driven by compassion and the desire to help those waiting for their loved ones to come home. We act swiftly, in cooperation with the authorities and in full compliance with all rules and laws — because every person found is a family reunited and hope restored.

How we work

Report to the police
The first and most important step is filing an official missing persons report with the police. This is essential to initiate formal search procedures.
Submit a request
Once the official police report has been filed, you can submit a request to DAR Alert. After clicking "Submit a request", the information reaches DAR Alert coordinators. A coordinator will contact you to gather details about the missing person’s description, the circumstances of their disappearance, police actions taken, and so on. You will receive initial guidance and recommendations.
Volunteer mobilisation
We rapidly alert our volunteer network across Spain. A search group is formed, and participants receive descriptions and assigned tasks. Information is shared via DAR’s social media channels and group chats.
Field search
Volunteers travel to likely locations and search streets, parks, railway stations and other areas. Missing persons flyers are posted where needed. All operations are managed by coordinators.
Coordination with authorities
We liaise with the police, share relevant data, and avoid interfering with the official investigation. This approach helps locate people more quickly.
DAR Alert works in collaboration with the experienced search and rescue unit Liza Alert. All assistance is free of charge.

Active searches

They are being waited for at home. You may be able to help — share the information, spread the word about the search, support the volunteers. Every action matters. Together we bring hope back.
